Bach, Telemann and the Gypsies
August 20, 2011, 7:29 pm
Mont-Tremblant, Sacré-Coeur-de-Jésus Church in Mont-Tremblant
An unusual concert of early music featuring the famous Ensemble Caprice. Winner of many national and international awards, this ensemble was recently praised in an entire page of the New York Times, which called the group “provocative… imaginative… immensely thoughtful.” Bach was intrigued by gypsies and used their music to inspire his own, as did other composers of his time, such as Vivaldi and Telemann. Take this journey of discovery with the six members of the Ensemble Caprice.
